18U:

Lincoln 5 @ Wasatch 4 - The Lincoln Stars met the Wasatch Renegades in a game with its fair share of highlights. Almost half of the first period went by uneventfully, before Lincoln’s Noah Krueger was the first to light the lamp, giving the Stars an early lead. Wasatch was quick to join the party, when Cason Youngman, Judge Glommen and Carson Owen all scored within the next five minutes, with Dace Rhea adding assist on all three goals, flipping the score to 3-1 in favor of the Renegade. Lincoln’s Sean Peppers halved the deficit before the end of the period, and the Stars went into the intermission trailing Wasatch by a goal. The two netminders, the Renegades Zebulon Hilton and Lincoln’s Alexander Marchand, tossed shutters for the first half of period two, before the Stars’ Hunter Hircsh and Dmitrii Konstantinov added goals before the close of the period, giving Lincoln a 4-3 advantage heading into the third period. But early in the period, Wasatch’s Youngman, of course assisted by Rhea, scored again to even the score at 4-4. Which is where the score stayed until the last minute of the game, when Lincoln’s Konstantinov scored the game winner to give the Stars a 5-4 victory.

Omaha 6 @ North Dakota 4 - In the Woodmans Center Mercyhurst, the Omaha Mastery tangled with Team North Dakota T1. From the first puck drop, Mastery took control of the game, with a goal and an assist from Trevor Ross, a score and two assists from Jimmy Coniglio, and one goal each off the sticks of Baron Grimes and Willl Tremblay. The offensive outburst gave Omaha a 4-0 cushion during the first intermission. North Dakota responded in the second period with three goals of their own, from Sawyer Nord, Parker Roelfsema and Jack Bartsch. But Omaha’s Barrett Skogland got one back, and the Mastery led 5-2 after 40 minutes. By and large, the third period belonged to the two’tenders: North Dakota’s Owen Deeter and Brayton Bauer. The two allowed only one goal apiece, with Omaha’s Skogland and North Dakota’s Chase Kalka netting the two goals of the final period, giving the Mastery a 6-4 victory.

Carshield 1 @ Omaha 2 - The Omaha Mastery topped Carshield AAA in a nailbiting ending. Neither the Carshield goalie, Drew Otten, nor Isaac Pilcher, the Mastery goalie, allowed a goal for the first 36 minutes of the game. Omaha’s Henry Cooley eventually opened the scoring, but the goal was answered seconds later by Louis Lamontagne’s goal that tied the score, 1-1. The score stayed tied for about a minute before Braxton Baker of the Mastery broke the tie with would prove to be the game-winning goal. Both netminders had terrific games, and outside of a four-minute stretch, neither allowed a goal with 53 total saves. Omaha escaped with the win, but to no fault was Otten or the rest of the Carshield defense.
