November 23, 2025
by Alexandria Smith & Abby Wanyek

Day two of the SHOW Massachusetts Showcase brought all the action once again! There were plenty of thrilling contests across the 14U, 16U, and 18U levels. Below are a few of the games that had us on the edge of our seat at the New England Sports Center. Be sure to click HERE for the full slate of scores.

18U:

The Capital Flames opened the day with a strong defensive showing in a 2-0 shutout win over the St. Louis Sting. Despite being heavily outshot 52-12, the Flames capitalized when it mattered most, scoring once in the second period and once in the third. Remi Gauthier broke through early in the middle frame, and Reed Krouse added insurance late while the Flames leaned on defending and key shot blocking to secure their first win of the weekend.

The Ogden/Weber County Jr. Mustangs picked up their first win of the weekend with a 2-1 victory over the West Dundee Leafs. Goaltending defined the matchup, with Ogden’s James Schmierer turning aside 31 shots. Andrew Romero scored both goals for the Mustangs, including the game-winner in the third, while the defense held late pressure to hold the lead.

The Texas Tigers capped the slate with a tight 2-1 win over the Orland Park Vikings. The Tigers struck first in the opening period and added another in the second to build a two-goal cushion. Texas survived a late push from Orland Park as the Vikings cut the deficit to one in the third, but strong defending in the closing minutes sealed the Tigers’ first victory of the weekend.

Wyoming overpowered Monument Hockey Academy 6-2. The game opened with heavy pressure from Wyoming, and a three-goal first period paved the way. James Hahn fueled the offensive outburst with a three-point effort, while Arlie Mitchell and Griffin Dunn added goals of their own as Wyoming controlled the puck for most of the night and never allowed MHA to close the gap.

California got on the board first after Kaden Webb notched a power-play goal from a pass by Lincoln Ferchaw. Maddex Bruce defended Wyoming’s win in net with 28 saves for the day, and Remington Joyce had 34 saves between the pipes for California.

The Chicago Hawks faced the Jacksonville Jr. Icemen, where they won 3-1 to extend their win streak for the weekend.
