The Pittsburgh Stars AAA Hockey Club of the North American Prospects Hockey League Tier I (NAT1HL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward Robert Boord Jr has signed a NAHL Junior A tender agreement with the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
The 2024-25 season was Boord's second season with the Star’s program and first with the Star’s U18 Midget Major squad.
The (5'11" / 180 lbs.) 18-year-old, graduate of McKeesport High School, from McKeesport, PA, registered 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists), including one powerplay and one shorthanded goal, in 20 NAT1HL regular season and Dixon Cup playoff appearances this past season. "Bobby is tough-nosed kid who can play a blue-collar physical game,” said Pittsburgh Stars 18U Head Coach Dave Kosick. “And that game should fit well in the NAHL’s South Division.”
The Ice Wolves, who skate in the NAHL's eight-team South Division, along with the Amarillo Wranglers (TX), Corpus Christi IceRays (TX), El Paso Rhinos (TX), Lone Star Brahmas (TX), Odessa Jackalopes (TX), Oklahoma Warriors (OK), Shreveport Mudbugs (LA), play in the Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
