September 27, 2024

With 12 games taking place between the 16U and 18U levels, there were plenty of great games in the FALL League with a few top games to highlight in each division.

16U:

The Wisconsin Windigo put on a show during their contest with the Minnesota Mallards with a combined 9 goals between the two teams, the game ending with a 5-4 final score. Three goals were scored in each period as the game went back and forth between the two clubs, making for an exciting matchup. Max Aldrich scored the game winning goal early in the third period while Luciano Paoli and Marshall Myers each tallied a goal and an assist for Wisconsin.

The 16U division concluded with a shots on goal frenzy as the Janesville Jets put up 58 shots against the St.Cloud Norsemen during their 5-4 victory. St.Cloud goaltender Austin Norton played 25 minutes, making 32 of 33 saves before he traded off with his goalie partner. After the Norsemen scored the first three goals of the game, the Jets would respond with four unanswered goals, the game winner coming off the stick of  Marcus Allen.

18U:

The Austin Bruins had a dominant performance over the Minnesota Wilderness, defeating their rivals by a score of 7-4. With a scoring heavy first two periods, Bruins forward Dylan Schmitz led the way offensively scoring two goals and notching three assists. After a five point performance, the Shakopee, MN native is now tied for 2nd place overall in scoring with 10 points in six games.

The top performer of the day was arguably the Wisconsin Windigo’s forward Logan Woods. During the Windigo’s 6-4 victory over the North Iowa Bulls, the West Bend, WI native racked up four of the seven goals with one goal in the first, two goals in the second and one goal in the third period. Woods serves as Wisconsin’s top scorer with seven points in six games.
