NAPHL FALL League Recap: 9/26
Our second FALL League event is officially underway. With another exciting day of action, we will have teams who remain undefeated at both levels.
16U:
With each team playing at least four games, only one team remains undefeated, the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. After the first FALL event, it comes to no surprise that Nash Paine continues to produce offensively as he now has 18 points in 5 games, 13 of those points being goals for New Hampshire. During today’s 5-0 victory over the Minnesota Wilderness, Paine recorded a pair of goals and assists.
As one of three teams tied for second place in the standings, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs defeated the Kenai River Brown Bears by a score of 5-2 with Parker Nivala leading the way offensively with one goal and two assists. When looking at the shot totals between the two teams, Kenai just barely out shot Fairbanks but it was the Ice Dogs netminder Anthony Radke who was able to turn away 32 of the 34 shots he was faced with for the victory.
18U:
The top three teams in the standings continue to battle, sitting within two points of another. The Austin Bruins, Odessa Jackalopes and Minnesota Mallards all won their games today, the most exciting contest being the Mallards victory over the Janesville Jets. Despite the score being 5-0, the shots were close with Minnesota outshooting Janesville 29 to 25. In addition to Minnesota’s goaltenders combining for a shutout, both Roddick Simmons and Nicholas Russ were able to net two goals a piece.
Make sure to follow along the live scores on our website and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for another day of PHL play!
