NAPHL FALL League Day 2 Recap

September 14, 2024

Day two of the Fall Event did not disappoint as we had another action packed day here at the Super Rink.

16U:

The New Hampshire Mountain Kings remained hot as one of two undefeated teams in the 16U division with 21 goals for, the highest amongst all organizations. Nash Paine continued his offensive production for New Hampshire as the all around leading scorer with a whopping 11 points in three games, including two game winning goals.

The Minnesota Mallards also remain undefeated after a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Lakers Prospects, followed by a 5-0 win over the Minnesota Walleye Prospects. Forward Jace Erb continued to appear on the scoresheet with another three goals on the day after yesterday’s one goal performance.

Competition remained tight as there were four, one-goal contests, including not one, but two 5-4 shootout victories for the Wisconsin Windigo. Top scorer for the Windigo include Luciano Paoli who scored three goals against the Minnesota Lakers Prospects, one of which being a shootout goal.

18U:

Meanwhile in the 18U division, three teams remain undefeated through the first two days of the event with the Kenai River Brown Bears, Austin Bruins and Odessa Jackalopes holding things down in the win column.

The Brown Bears took a demanding 5-1 win over the Janesville Jets with five different players finding the back of the net. Netminder Cole Sharrow leads the U18 division in save percentages with a .980% and has turned away 50 of the 51 shots he has been faced with.

Similar to Kenai, the Austin Bruins defeated their opponent in the Chippewa Steel by a final score of 5-1 as Parker Schultz and Maguire DeWees scored two goals apiece. With 15 goals for, the second highest in the U18 bracket, Jackson George continues to shine for the Bruins with three goals and two assists with one power play goal, one power play assist and one game winning goal.

Last but not least, the Jacks pulled out a 4-3 overtime thriller over the Minnesota Mallards and it was Chase Crass who would net the deciding goal for Odessa. Of the six players with 5 points in the U18 bracket, Jackalopes’ Calvin Lakowske leads the way offensively with two goals and three assists. Although the Mallards fell just short, they will still pick up one point in the standings.

We will wrap things up for our first event tomorrow, be sure to watch all the action live on NAHLTV.COM!
