T1ER 18U teams take center stage on Day 1 in New Jersey

The NAPHL began its fourth event of the 2022-23 season at the Middletown Sports Complex in Middletown, NJ, on Friday with East Division 18U and 16U teams taking to the ice.

NAHL Games: The New Jersey Titans are in town and will be hosting the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on both Friday and Saturday night. Players can gain free entry to the game by wearing their team jersey, or if a team roster is sent to Joe DiMarino, joe.dimarino@titansnj.com he can make sure the team gets placed on a comp list. Parents or additional adults are $5.

18U Division: The New Jersey Titans opened up the East Showcase with a 3-1 victory over the Nordiques. Ryan Starman scored a pair of goals for the Titans and Pat Haines buried the 3rd. Ryan Henry and Fedor Tabako combined for 21 saves in the win. Philadelphia Hockey Club defeated Southern TIER 8-4 thanks to a hat trick and four point performance from Scott McNulty. Defenseman Matt Donegan had a goal and four points in the victory as well. The Philadelphia Little Flyers took down the Generals 5-1. Sammy Phillips and Hunter Hayes each had two goals while Luke Melito was the other goalscorer. The Titans edged past New Hampshire 5-4 thanks to a four-goal second period. Defenseman Tuff scored a hat trick while their netminder kept out 31 of 35 shots faced.
Philadelphia Hockey Club completed the day 2-0 after defeating the Avalanche 6-2. Philadelphia skaters Denis Maliew, Connor Movalli, Scott McNulty, and Liam Crowley all had a goal and assist in the game. The Generals finished day one of the East Showcase with a 5-2 win over the Southern TIER Admirals. Ryan Sachs had a strong performance for Northeast, scoring two goals and dishing three assists. The Little Flyers blanked the Titans 4-0 thanks to a 19 save shutout performance from Michael Manzi. Sammy Phillips, Luke Panepresso, Hunter Hayes, and Zach Crain were the goal scorers. The Maine Nordiques bounced back Friday night after taking down the Titans 2-1. Troy Statzcar and Nicolas Vagner were the goalscorers for Maine.
16U Division: The Avalanche shutout the Nordiques 4-0 thanks to a 21 save night from netminder Nicholas Warren. Cameron Fiasconaro, Jeremy Poirier, Cameron Fiasconaro, and Brady Gravell were the scorers for New Hampshire. Philadelphia Hockey Club shutout the Northeast Generals 4-0. Daniel Daggett made 15 saves for the shutout and Liam Bell, Nate King, Riley Capecci, and Marc Nicastro scored the goals. The Philadelphia Little Flyers beat the Titans 3-1. John Mullen, Grayson Esposito, and Lorenzo Tita buried the goals for the Little Flyers.
