El Paso forward Cosman makes NCAA DI commitment
The El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward and NAPHL grad Bo Cosman has committed to play NCAA Division at the University of Massachusetts in Hockey East.
Cosman, 20, is currently in his second and final season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL for the Rhinos. The 6’2/192 lbs. native of Milton, GA, currently leads the Rhinos in scoring through six games this season with six points (2 goals, 4 assists).
“I am proud to announce my commitment to play Division 1 Hockey at UMass. I want to thank my coaches, family, friends, and all the people who helped me make my dreams come true,” said Cosman. "I decided on UMass because I believe the academics and the hockey program will be a great fit for me. Coach Carvel is awesome, and I can’t wait to learn from him and grow as a hockey player with his help. The campus is incredible and I’m excited to call it home next fall.”
During the 2021-22 season, Cosman posted 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in 59 games during his rookie NAHL campaign.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Cosman spent time playing in the NAPHL first with the TPH Thunder 16U team during the 2018-19 season and then with the Nashville Jr. Predators 18U team during the 2019-20 season. In nine career NAPHL games, Cosman recorded three points.
