Janesville forward Mathison signs NAHL tender
The Janesville Jr. Jets, members of the NAPHL’s Fall League, are pleased to announce that 18U forward Boone Mathison has signed a NAHL tender agreement with the Janesville Jets of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Mathison, 18, just completed his first season playing with the Jr. Jets. He appeared in eight NAPHL regular season games during the 2020-21 season and recorded seven points (2 goals, 5 assists). He also had a goal in four playoff games.
Mathison led the 18U Jr. Jets to the USA Hockey Tier II 3A 18U National Championship earlier this season. He tied for the team lead in scoring during the event with 12 points in six games played.
Mathison has also played the last three seasons for Tomah High School in Wisconsin. He has also played in one NA3HL game for the Coulee Region Chill during the 2018-19 season.
He is the first player from the teams of the NAPHL’s Fall League who has signed an NAHL tender for the 2021-22 season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
