Fairbanks forward Chilton makes NCAA commitment

June 1, 2018

Connor Chilton played five years in the NAPHL prior to two seasons in the NAHL leading up to his NCAA commitment.

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Connor Chilton has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Aurora University in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
Chilton, 21, is another great example of an NAPHL to NAHL to NCAA ladder of development success story. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Simi Valley, California, just completed his second and final season playing in the NAHL for Fairbanks. During the 2017-18 season, Chilton had 22 points (4 goals, 18 assists) in 43 regular season games. He was also selected to and played in the 2018 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Midwest Division team, where he had one assist in two games during the event.
Chilton joined the Ice Dogs during the 2016-17 season after signing a tender to play for the club in February of 2016. During his first season with the Ice Dogs, he had 18 points in 52 games played.
Prior to playing in the NAHL for Fairbanks, Chilton spent five seasons playing for the California Titans in the NAPHL. During the 2015-16 season, Chilton led the NAPHL 18U Division and the Titans in scoring. In 25 NAPHL regular season games that season, Chilton recorded a league-leading 44 points (17 goals, 27 assist). He was also selected to and played in the 2015-16 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game, where he scored 2 goals for Team OT Sports in their 7-3 win.
Chilton also played in two NAPHL Top Prospects Tournaments in 2015 and 2016.
In five seasons of playing in the NAPHL, which dates back to the 2011-12 season when Chilton began playing in the league, he played in 104 career regular season games and had 89 career points.
He is the 13th Ice Dogs player during the 2017-18 season who has made an NCAA commitment.
