Rocky Mountain 18U defenseman Millar signs NAHL tender
December 28, 2017

The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Jack Millar has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Minot Minotauros of the NAHL’s Central Division.
Milar, 17, is in his third season playing in the NAPHL for the RoughRiders, and first season at the 18U level. The native of Westminster, Colorado, has recorded 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists) in 17 total NAPHL games so far this season.
Back in June, Millar (6’5/195) made an NCAA Division I commitment to Colorado College.
During the 2016-17 season, Millar had 24 points in 22 games played in the NAPHL for the Rocky Mountain 16U team. He was also selected to and played in the 2016 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game.
Overall, Millar has been with the RoughRiders for five seasons, playing at the 13U, 14U, 16U, and 18U levels.
He is the third member of the RoughRiders 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 5, 2018.
