Meijer 18U forward Guillemain signs NAHL tender
June 5, 2017
The Meijer AAA hockey club of the NAPHL is pleased to announce that 18U forward Sacha Guillemain has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Guillemain, 17, just completed his first season with the Meijer AAA program and second overall in the NAPHL. The native of Mont Saint Aignan, France, had a great season for the Meijer 18U team in 2016-17.
In 22 regular season games, Guillemain (6’0/165) had 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists). He also recorded four points in four playoff games as Meijer made it all the way to the Championship Game for a second straight season. His 29 points ranked 2nd on the Meijer AAA 18U team in scoring.
Guillemain was also selected to and played in the 2016 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game, where he recorded a goal for Team Dixon.
Last season, he played for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 16U team in the NAPHL, where he had 30 points in 25 games played.
Overall in his NAPHL career, Guillemain has played in 50 games and recorded 60 points.
He is the 6th player from the Meijer AAA 18U team this season who has signed an NAHL tender.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 6, 2017.
