Pikes Peak 18U goalie Swayman signs NAHL tender

The Pikes Peak Miners, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that 18U goaltender Jeremy Swayman has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the NAHL’s South Division.
Swayman, 17, is in his first season playing for the Miners in the NAPHL. The native of Anchorage, Alaska has been towards the top of the NAPHL 18U goaltending statistics this season. Along with 15 games played, Swayman (6’2/185) has a 7-7-1 record. His 93.5% save percentage ranks 5th in the 18U Division and his 1.94 goals against average ranks 11th.
Swayman has three shutouts this season, which ranks tied for 3rd and his 414 saves ranks 2nd overall in the 18U Division.
Swayman was named the #1 18U Goaltending Peak Performer from the first event of the season at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN.
Swayman took part in the 2014-15 USA Hockey Select 16 festival.
Swayman is the fourth Pikes Peak Miners 18U player to sign an NAHL tender this season, joining Preston Weeks (Kenai River), Brendan Doyle (Topeka) and Ethan Daniels (Wichita Falls).
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
