March 24, 2015
The St. Louis Selects, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), are pleased to announce that 18U forward Jordan Bratton has signed an a NAHL tender agreement with the Odessa Jackalopes. The Jackalopes currently compete in the NAHL’s South Division.
Bratton, 17, just finished competing in his first season in the NAPHL for the Selects. The native of Arnold, Missouri had a tremendous season, leading the 18U team in scoring this season with 29 points in 24 regular season games. Bratton also had four points in four NAPHL playoff games.
Bratton also pulled off the rare double-double this season in the NAPHL, playing in both the inaugural 18U All-Star Game, as well as, the 2015 NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament.
Bratton (5’10/160) was held scoreless in the All-Star Game for Team Blue, while he registered two assists in three games for Team Central at the NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament.
Bratton also played high school hockey this season for the Fox Warriors in the St. Louis area. Prior to playing for the Selects, Bratton played Tier II Midget hockey for the Afton Americans where he was a part of several National Championships.
Bratton is the first player from the St. Louis Selects to sign an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 9, 2015.
