Romeoville event enters final day

The second NAPHL event of the season moves into its final day at Canlan Ice Sports in Romeoville, IL. Several teams have taken advantage of the event, winning multiple games and in some cases making up for a rough start in Blaine. Others have found it tough sledding after having a good first event in Blaine. It all makes for standings that are very tight after two events.
The final day of competition is on Monday and several scouts have stuck around to watch the action as the final day offers several enticing match-ups.

Here is a look at all of Sunday’s results:
18U Division
Each 18U team played in one game on Sunday. California moved their record to 4-0 at the event with a 7-0 shutout of Philadelphia. Evan Robert made 22 saves in the win. Despite being outshot 43-21, Omaha defeated New Jersey 4-3 in a shootout. TJ Polglaze had two goals for Omaha. Esmark moved their record at the event to 3-0-1 with a 4 win over Pursuit of Excellence. Adam Alavi had two goals for the Stars. Madison got 28 saves from Tim Grounds in a 2-1 win over St. Louis. Lansing beat HC Dallas 3-1 thanks to two goals from Wyatt Beard. The Minnesota Revolution picked up their second win of the season thanks to some late game heroics in a 3-2 shootout win over West Michigan. Devin Cooley made 25 saves as the San Jose Jr. Sharks topped Pikes Peak, 3-1.
16U Division
In the 16U Division, Esmark and Lansing helped their causes with two wins on Sunday. Esmark beat New Jersey 7-1 and Pursuit of Excellence 5-3. Lansing defeated Pikes Peak 5-1 and shutout West Michigan 3-0. Teams that went 1-0 on Sunday included San Jose, who beat Pikes Peak 4-2. Omaha beat Everett, 6-2. California picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 shootout win over Minnesota Elite Development. In a battle of 7-1 teams, Anaheim defeated Arizona, 5-1. Madison picked up a 3-1 win over St. Louis. New Jersey and HC Dallas were the other teams that played two games with each going 1-1 on Sunday.
