NAPHL event in Michigan reaches final day
The NAPHL event in Michigan continued on Sunday with the T1ER 18U and 16U teams competing in the second day of their final regular season event of the 2022-23 season. The T1ER games will be played at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, MI and the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI. The T1ER event runs from January 13-16.
On Sunday, the SHOW National Division 18U and 16U teams, along with the SHOW 14U Division conitnued with more competitve games at the Buffalo Wild Wings Arena in Troy, MI and Suburban Ice in Rochester, MI. The SHOW event runs from January 14-16.

16U T1ER: Biggby Coffee AAA took a 4-1 win against the Madison Capitols. Boston Cornic and Riley Fast both had a two point game and goaltender Andrew Klei stopped 22 shots. CarShield AAA and the Philadelphia Little Flyers went down to the wire as CarShield took a 3-2 win in overtime. Logan Stawzynski scored just twenty-five seconds into the extra frame and goaltender Levi Niedert stopped 25 shots. The New Jersey Jr. Titans defeated Omaha Mastery AAA by a score of 5-2. Nikolas Reich and Philip Bermingham both added two points and goaltender Aiden Rowland took the win in net. The Philadelphia Hockey Club took an overtime win against the Colorado Springs Tigers, 4-3. Kevin Walton had two goals including the OT game winner and goaltender Daniel Daggett got the win in net stopping 28 shots. Team Alaska blanked the Northwest Stars, 7-0, after a 5 goal third period. Thomas Tunney netted a hat-trick and Hayden Zenia got the shutout in net. The Tri State Spartans won 5-1 against the Ontario Jr. Reign. Samuel Bass scored twice and goaltender Gannon Krug stopped 17 shots. The New Hampshire Avalanche edged the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights, 2-1. Elijah Sharp and Griffin Halecki both scored for the Avalanche. Nicholas Warren stood tall between the pipes for the win. The Indy Jr. Fuel took down the Northeast Generals, 5-1. Roman Gralak posted 3 points with 2 goals and 1 assist and goaltender Aidan VanderWeele stopped 19 shots. The Madison Capitols shutout Omaha Mastery AAA by a score of 5-0 after scoring 3 goals in the first and 2 in the second. Ryder Hill added two goals and goaltender Alex Scandrol stopped all of the 17 shots he faced in the win. The Maine Nordiques added a goal in the third period to tie the game and eventually force a shootout where they would win 5-4. Goaltender Morris took the win in net. The Philadelphia Little Flyers took a shootout win over the Esmark Stars, 4-3. Brett Linker scored twice in the shootout and goaltender Henry Goosen got the win in net.
18U T1ER: The Philadelphia Hockey Club shutout the Northeast Generals in a 3-0 final. Peter Dunckel posted a 35 shot shutout in net. The New Jersey Jr. Titans defeated Team Alaska, 4-1. Goaltender Fedor Tabako stopped 28 shots in the win. The Indy Jr. Fuel added a goal in each period to win 3-1 over the Ontario Jr. Reign. Chris Fotopoulos netted two goals and goaltender Nick James got the win in net. The New Hampshire Avalanche had a big win over the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights, 9-2. Brayden Guagliumi scored 4 goals and goaltender Oliver Sperry got the win in net. The Tri State Spartans topped the Northwest Stars, 4-1. Zander Lipsett had two goals and goaltender Collin McCloud stopped 30 shots. Omaha Mastery AAA took a shootout win against the Colorado Springs Tigers, 3-2. Kyle Sorensen and Gabe Kenne both scored in the shootout and goaltender Oskar Siemionek stopped 40 shots. The Philadelphia Little Flyers kept CarShield AAA off the scoresheet in a 2-0 final score. Michael Manzi turned away 31 shots in the shutout win. Biggby Coffee AAA defeated the Madison Capitols in a 5-1 final. Ryan Harris accounted for three assists and Caleb Kril turned away 23 shots. The Maine Nordiques blanked the Esmark Stars in a 2-0 game. Anthony White and Kohen Dixson scored while Rylan Freshwater got the win in net.
14U SHOW: The action started with a bang as the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights topped the New Mexico Ice Wolves 5-3. Liam Butsavich registered his second hat trick in as many days. Highland Park knocked off the New Jersey Titans by a 7-0 score. Preston Lui notched two goals while Grady Strothman had a goal and two helpers. Logan Spiegal had a 30 save shutout. The Pekin Dragons defeated the Arizona Hockey Union 6-3. Brendan Miller had a hat trick while Dylan Anderson and Drew Chovenec each picked up four points. The McKinney North Stars dominated the Weber Mustangs as Nicholas Ray had a hat trick while Robert Tomczak had two goals and a helper. Rodrick Reynolds had two goals and an assist while Nicholas Gallagher grabbed two goals of his own in Vegas’ 5-2 win over the Pekin Dragons. The Highland Park Falcons got a pair of goals from Gavin Deroma and Justin Papin as they beat the McKinney North Stars 9-4. Jonathan Foster had the game winning goal in overtime as the New Mexico Ice Wolves defeated the Arizona Hockey Union 3-2. Connor Hubbard and Angus Smith scored in the win for New Mexico. A four goal first period carried the New Jersey Titans to a 5-0 win over the Weber Mustangs. Jake Berg, Michael Deats and Michael Ditwell all had a goal and an assist. Conor McGoldrick had four assists.
16U SHOW: A goal from Colten Cox proved to be the difference as the Pekin Dragons topped the Sylvania North Stars 2-1. Ian Ingles also scored for Pekin. Vincent Faggioli-Delong had two goals and two helpers as the Florida Everblades beat the New Jersey Titans Elite 8-1. Jaron Prokopetz had two goals and an assist of his own. The Texas Tigers picked up the win in the shootout over the Chicago Hawks as Marcus Levita had the game deciding goal. Brendan Combs scored in regulation for Brenden Combs. Demetri Fallidas and Julian Calcagnino scored in the final period to lift Highland Park Falcons to a 2-1 win over Cherry Creek. Six different players found the back of the net as the Orland Park Vikings beat the Clearwater Ice Storm 6-1. Michal Czubiak had goal and an assist for the Vikings. Ayden Gray picked up two goals and an assist as the Chicago Jets doubled up the Anaheim Jr. Ducks 4-2. Ernie Allen had two points for the Jets in the win.Trevor Bryson was the overtime hero for the St. Louis Sting as they defeated the Arizona Hockey Union 4-3.
18U SHOW: Preston Jones scored twice and Braylen Tuff added a goal and two helpers as the New Jersey Titans Prep team topped the Clearwater Ice Storm 5-2. Robert Bird picked up a hat trick and four points as the St. Mary’s Rams beat the Jersey Whalers 6-2. Luke Brandon and Nicholas Bingham each registered a goal and an assist. Ryan Knauss capped a furious comeback by the Northwest Chargers as his goal in overtime gave them a 3-2 win over the Philly Little Flyers. Taylor notched two goals and two assists as the Chicago Hawks shutout the Maine Nordiques Prep team 8-0. Brady Culin had two goals while Cooper Darovic turned aside all 30 shots fired in his direction. Nathan Halfhill II picked up a pair of goals as the St. Louis Sting topped Cherry Creek 5-2. Tyler Montgomery made 22 saves to pick up the win in goal. Ryan Dawson and Brayden Bibby each had a goal and two helpers as the Tri Valley Bulls won a 8-5 thriller. Maxwell Hove also netted two goals for the Bulls. Jackson Black turned aside all 20 shots he faced as the Texas Tigers blanked the Orland Park Vikings 4-0. Owen Seibert led the way offensively with a goal and two assists. Arun Nickerson scored twice and Carter Kotraba contributed a goal and an assist as the Chicago Jets beat the Lincoln Stars 4-1. Cameron Irwin registered two goals and an assist as the Anaheim Jr. Ducks shutout the Highland Park Falcons 5-0. Nick Cowles earned the shutout in the blue paint.
