Maine 18U forward Panico signs NAHL tender
The Maine Nordiques Academy of the NAPHL is pleased to announce that 18U forward Ryan Panico has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL’s East Division.
Panico, 18, has played the past two seasons for the Nordiques 18U team. The 6’1/190 lbs. native of Fairfield, CT, recorded two points in six NAPHL regular season games during the 2021-22 regular season.
In the Dixon Cup Playoffs, he took his game to another level, recording 8 points in five games played.
Overall in 43 games this season, he has recorded 45 points (21 goals, 24 assist).
During the 2020-21 seeason he put up 45 points in 53 games played.
Prior to playing for the Nordiques Academy, Panico played for The Northwood School.
He is the 4th player from the Nordiques 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
