Tri State 18U forward Schankula signs NAHL tender
The Tri State Spartans of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U forward Adam Schankula has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL’s East Division.
Schankula, 18, is in his third season playing in the NAPHL. The 6’2/190 lbs. native of Newmarket, ON, is currently leading the Spartans 18U team in scoring so far during the 2021-22 season with 27 points in just 15 games played, which includes 18 goals and 9 assists.
Schankula’s 27 points ranks 3rd among all NAPHL 18U players, his 18 goals ranks 2nd, and his 1.80 points per game ranks 1st.
Shankula was named the NAPHL’s 18U Offensive Peak Performer in November. He also made his NAHL debut with the Black Bears, playing in two games on November 5th and 6th.
Last season, Schankula had 12 points in 22 games played for the Spartans 18U team.
During the 2019-20 season, he played in the NAPHL for the Sylvania Stars 16U team, scoring five points in four games played.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
