Des Moines 18U forward Mulrenin signs NAHL tender
The Des Moines Buccaneers AAA organization of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that forward Ryan Mulrenin has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Mulrenin, 19, just completed his third and final season playing in the NAPHL. The 5’10/180 lbs. native of Wayzata, MN, had a solid 2020-21 season for Des Moines, recording 20 points (11 goals, 9 assists) in 20 NAPHL games.
In 57 games overall during the 2020-21 season, he recorded 55 points. He also had two points in four Dixon Cup Playoff games.
Mulrenin spent the 2019-20 season with the Bucs 18U team as well, recording five points in four NAPHL games and 19 points in 27 games overall.
During the 2018-19 season, he played for the Florida Alliance 18U team in the NAPHL, posting 14 points in 16 NAPHL games.
In his three-year NAPHL career, Mulrenin has played in 40 games and posted 39 points.
He is the sixth player from the Bucs 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender for the 2021-22 season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
