CarShield AAA 18U forward Weber signs NAHL tender
The CarShield AAA hockey organization, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), are pleased to announce that 18U forward Coby Weber has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Weber, 18, is in his second season of playing for the CarShield 18U team and fourth season overall for CarShield in the NAPHL. So far during the 2020-21 season, the 6’1/170 lbs. native of St. Louis, Missouri, has 13 points (8 goals, 5 assists) in 12 NAPHL games.
He was selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game for Team Demko.
During the 2019-20 season, Weber signed a tender with the Lone Star Brahmas and was named to the All-NAPHL 18U Team in the High Performance Division. He also played in the 2019-20 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game.
Weber also played for the CarShield 16U team from 2017-19. Overall in 65 NAPHL regular season games in his career, he has recorded 52 points.
Weber is the second player from the CarShield 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
