Des Moines 18U forward Casper signs NAHL tender

The Des Moines Buccaneers AAA organization of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce that 18U forward Carter Casper has signed a North American Hockey League tender agreement with the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Casper, 18, is currently in his second season playing in the NAPHL for the Bucs AAA 18U team. The 6’2/185 lbs. native of Chicago, Illinois, has appeared in 14 NAPHL games so far during the 2020-21 season and has recorded 20 points (6 goals, 14 assists).
Casper had a huge event in December in Texas, where he posted 10 points in four games.
“Carter is a power forward that loves using his size and strength to get to the net. He has a knack for scoring on the power play and was very impressive at the NAPHL event in Texas in December,” said Magicians GM Gaven Bickford.
Overall in 26 games this season, he has recorded 29 points.
During the 2019-20 season, Casper had 20 points in 14 NAPHL games. He also made his NAHL debut with the Lone Star Brahmas on February 21, 2020.
Casper is the fourth player from the Bucs 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
