Northstar 18U forward Albers signs NAHL tender
April 24, 2020

The Northstar Christian Academy of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce that 18U forward Nate Albers has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Chippewa Steel of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Albers, 18, just completed his second season playing in the NAPHL for Northstar. The 6’4/181 lbs. native of McKinney, Texas, played in 15 NAPHL games during the 2019-20 season, posting four points. Overall in 55 games played with the Knights this past season, Albers has 22 points.
“Nate is a big physical forward that plays with an edge. He provides leadership and is hard to play against,” stated Steel Head Coach Carter Foguth.
Albers played in 55 games during the 2018-19 season for Northstar, recording 14 points.
He is the 9th player for the Northstar Knights 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on July 21, 2020.
