NAPHL announces Apex Learning Peak Performers for October 2019

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) announced its Apex Learning Virtual School Peak Performers for the month of October. The players were selected based upon their performance at the second and third NAPHL events of the season, which took place in Attleboro, MA and Blaine, MN. Stats were based on ALL games played. Peak Performers are only to full-time NAPHL members in the High Performance and Elite Divisions.


18U Apex Peak Performer (Offense) – Braden Husby, Sioux Falls Power

For the second straight month, Sioux Falls Power 18U forward Braden Husby, 17, has been named the NAPHL’s Peak Performer for 18U Offene. The 6’0/170 lbs. native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, had 10 points in four games, which included 7 goal and 3 assists during the event in Attlboro. That included a four-point game in an 8-1 win over the Northeast Generals and a 5-goal game in an 11-1 win over the 95 Giants.

18U Apex Peak Performer (Defense) – Joe Prouty, Sioux Falls Power

Sioux Falls Power defenseman Joe Prouty, 17, helped Sioux Falls to a perfect 4-0 record in Attleboro. The 6’0/172 lbs. native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, recorded nine points in four wins, which included three goals and six assists. Prouty had two goals in an 11-1 win over the 95 Giants and a goal and three assists in a 5-3 win over Team Maryland.

18U Apex Peak Performer (Goaltender) – Danny Mitchell, Esmark Stars

Esmark Stars 18U goalie Danny Mitchell, 17, was solid in goal for the Stars, went 3-0-1 in Attleboro. The 6’3/165 lbs. native of Mars, Pennsylvania, allowed just two goals in two games during the event. In his first start, Mitchell made 16 saves in a 3-1 win over the Seacoast Spartans. In his second start, he made 37 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss to the New Jersey Jr. Titans. Mitchell has allowed just six goals in four NAPHL games this season.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Offense) – Bennett Schimek, Gentry Galaxy

The NAPHL’s leading scorer, Gentry 16U forward Bennett Schimek, 16, had a huge month of October as the Galaxy continued to stay undefeated. The 5’11/170 lbs. native of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, recorded 36 points (18 goals, 18 assists) in 8 games during the month as Gentry played in both events in Attleboro and Blaine. Schimek, who is committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Miami University, currently leads all NAPHL players in scoring with 49 points in 12 games played so far this season.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Defense) – Regan Kallis, Esmark Stars

Esmark Stars 16U defenseman Regan Kallis, 16, had an event to remember in Attleboro. The 5’9/155 lbs. native of St. Albert, Alberta, recorded seven points (1 goal, 6 assists) in four games to help the Stars to a 3-1 record at the event. That included three, multi-point games in wins over the New Jersey Jr. Titans, Northeast Generals, and Everett Silvertips Elite. Kallis’ best effort was a three point game in a 9-2 win over Everett.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Goaltender) – Jack Stark, Sioux Falls Power

Stark, 16, was perfect in his two starts during the month, which came in Attleboro. The 5’10/140 lbs. native of Chaska, Minnesota, posted two shutouts in two games, which included a 21-save shutout in a 4-0 win over the 95 Giants and a 38-save shutout in a 1-0 shootout win over the Northeast Generals, where he also stopped all three shooters in the shootout to secure the win.
