Sioux Falls 16U defenseman Tobin signs NAHL tender
May 30, 2019

The Sioux Falls Power of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 16U defenseman Maxwell Tobin has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the New Mexico Ice Wolves of the NAHL’s South Division.
Tobin, 16, has played in the NAPHL the past two seasons for the Sioux Falls. The 5’11/180 lbs. native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, recorded 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) in 16 NAPHL regular season games during the 2018-19 season.
He also had three points in five playoff games, helping the Power to the Dixon Cup 16U Championship Game.
Overall in his two-year NAPHL career, Tobin has posted 15 points in 33 games played.
He is the second player from the Sioux Falls Power 16U team who has signed an NAHL tender agreement so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
