NAPHL alum Hofer signs NHL deal with St. Louis Blues

Joel Hofer played two seasons in the NAPHL in 2015-16 and 2016-17.
St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced that the Blues have signed goaltender and NAPHL grad Joel Hofer to a three-year entry-level contract.
Hofer was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 107th overall, of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Hofer, 18, has split this season between the Western Hockey League's (WHL) Swift Current Broncos and Portland Winterhawks. In 30 games with the Broncos, the 6-foot-3, 161-pound goaltender posted a 6-21-1 record along with a .904 save percentage. With the Winterhawks, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native has gone 9-8-0 with a 3.18 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 18 appearances.
Hofer began his junior career with Swift Current in 2017-18, collecting an 8-3-1 record, a 2.61 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage while helping the Broncos capture the WHL Championship.
Hofer played two seasons in the NAPHL for the Pursuit of Excellence 16U and 18U teams. During the 2015-16 season, he posted a 2.92 goals against average and a .890 save percentage in 12 games for the 16U team and in 2016-17, he posted a 3.10 goals against average and a .883 save percentage for the 18U team.
