Colorado Springs 18U forward Bure signs NAHL tender

November 15, 2018
The Colorado Springs Tigers of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward Lev Bure has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL’s South Division.
Bure, 18, is in his third year playing in the NAPHL and first with the Colorado Springs Tigers organization. So far during the 2018-19 season, the 5’6/160 lbs. native of Malibu, California is tied for the team lead in scoring with 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) in 12 NAPHL games played to date.
Prior to playing for the Tigers, Bure spent two seasons with the California Titans in the NAPHL during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. He also played in the 2018 NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament, which took place during the 2018 NAHL Robertson Cup Tournament this past May, where he had four points in four games played.
"My goals for this season remain the same. I strive to be the best player I can be, through work on and off the ice. I am happy to be playing with the Tigers organization who has given me outstanding resources to help further develop my game, and push me to my best,” said Bure.
"I am beyond grateful and would like to thank Odessa head coach Greg Gatto for giving me this amazing opportunity. Tendering with the Jackalopes is exciting and a dream come true. The Jackalopes have proven to be a first-class organization, and I am extremely excited to be part of it moving forward,” continued Bure. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for the coaching staff, as they have created a fantastic environment for their team and given players the best opportunity to achieve success.”
Bure is the first player for the Colorado Springs Tigers who has signed an NAHL tender this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
