Sioux Falls 16U forward Kiecker-Olson signs NAHL tender

May 1, 2018
The Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede AAA Tier 1 Program of the North American Prospects Hockey League is proud to announce that 16U forward Killian Kiecker-Olson has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Chippewa Steel (formerly Coulee Region Chill) of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
The 6’0/190 lbs. native of Andover, Minnesota, posted 49 points in 33 games overall played this season and helped lead the Jr Stampede 16U team to the National Tournament.
He had seven points in 21 overall games in the NAPHL this season, but led the team in scoring during the Dixon Cup Playoffs with six points in four games.
Killian Kiecker-Olson was also a Phase 1 draft pick of the Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL) and is the third Jr. Stampede 16U player to tender with a NAHL team this season.
“Killian took advantage of everything our program has to offer and thrived in Sioux Falls this season. After having surgery in the offseason, Killian worked with Sanford Health’s first class physical therapists in order to return 100% midseason. Being in Sioux Falls while rehabbing also gave way to Killian having the on and off ice resources needed to get into the best physical shape he has ever been in. He worked very hard to make those improvements and it completely changed his game. Killian is a great competitor, leader and absolutely loves to play hockey. I look forward to what the future holds for his hockey career,” said Noëlle Needham, 16U Head Coach.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 5, 2018.
