March 21, 2018

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce that the Tampa Scorpions 18U team will be the sixth NAPHL team that will take part in the 2018 USA Hockey Tier I National Championships set for April 5-10 in Philadelphia, PA.
The Scorpions 18U team earned their invitation to the National Championship by winning the 18U Division of the Southeast District Tier I Championship this past weekend.
The Scorpions went a perfect 4-0 at the event, which included a 3-0 record in the round-robin and a win in the Championship Game over Team Maryland.
The Scorpions are the sixth NAPHL team that will be playing in the 2018 USA Hockey Tier I Nationals, joining: Alaska Oilers U15, Esmark Stars U16, Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede U18, Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede U16, and Washington Little Caps U16.
This past season was a very good one for the Tampa Scorpions 18U team, who were in their first season of membership in the NAPHL. They finished with an 11-3-4 record during the regular season and in the Dixon Cup Playoffs made it all the way to the 18U Championship Game, where they fell to Esmark, 5-2.
They have also had three players sign NAHL tenders to date.
