CarShield AAA 18U defenseman Roberts signs NAHL tender
March 14, 2018

The CarShield AAA hockey organization of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Cade Roberts has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender with the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL’s South Division.
Roberts, 18, just completed his second season of playing in the NAPHL for the CarShield AAA organization. The 6’1/205 lbs. native of St. Peter’s, Missouri, led all CarShield 18U blueliners in points during the regular season with 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) in 18 games played. He added two more assists in four playoff games.
Last season, Roberts played for the CarShield (St. Louis Selects) 18U team and had seven points in 19 games played. Overall in 37 career NAPHL games, Roberts has recorded 20 points.
He is the sixth player from the CarShield AAA 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 5, 2018.
