January 25, 2018

The Madison Capitols of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 16U forward and NAPHL All-Star Reid Pabich has been called up to the United State Hockey League (USHL) to play with the Madison Capitols.
Pabich, 16, has had a standout season for the 16U Caps, who are in a tie for 3rd place in the NAPHL 16U division heading into the final regular season event of the 2017-18 this weekend in Blaine, Minnesota. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Verona, Wisconsin, has recorded 22 points in 17 games with the 16U team this season in NAPHL play. He has also played five games with Madison’s 18U team.
He has also appeared in 14 games for the USHL team this season.
Pabich played the 2016-17 season with the Caps 16U team as a 15-year-old and had seven points in 20 games played.
“Reid is one of those players that carries himself on and off the ice very well. He is a player that his character will never be in question. He plays the entire 200 feet and really thinks the game well. Reid is a team player and knows when to move pucks and does it very well. He is a difference maker on the ice and can finish when given the opportunity. He was the captain of our team and really led by example. Reid’s opportunity to play in the USHL is a testament of what hard work, a strong character base, and reliability can bring you,” said Madison 16U coach Mike Swanson.
Pabich’s will be with the USHL team this weekend and will not be able to play in the NAPHL 16U All-Star Game. Fellow forward and 16U teammate Simon Ellingson has been named as his replacement.
