Esmark 16U goalie Kucharski signs NAHL tender
June 13, 2016

The Esmark Stars of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 16U goaltender Jake Kucharski has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Austin Bruins, who compete in the NAHL’s Central Division.
Kucharski, 16, just completed his first season of playing in the NAPHL for the Stars. The native of Erie, Pennsylvania, finished the season with a 6-6-1 record in 14 appearances during the regular season. Kucharski (6’3/190) finished 7th among NAPHL 16U goaltenders with a 1.77 goals against average and 8th with a 91.7% save percentage.
Kucharski also appeared in three NAPHL playoff games.
Kucharski was the #2 star of the month for 16U goalies in January this past season.
He was also drafted by the Chicago Steel in the 2016 USHL Draft and he is the first player from the Esmark Stars 16U team to sign an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which was held on June 7, 2016.
