Omaha 18U forward Fader signs NAHL tender
December 29, 2015
The Omaha AAA hockey club, proud members of the NAPHL, have announced that 18U forward Jordan Fader has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Aberdeen Wings. The Wings compete in the NAHL’s Central Division.
Fader, 18, just completed a successful first half with the Omaha AAA 18U team. His 21 points in 19 games played has him tied for second overall on an Omaha team that is currently first in the NAPHL with an 18-2 record.
"Jordan is a smart, offensive player with good size, a quick shot and touch," Assistant Coach / Director of Scouting Mike Grattan said. "Good things happen around him, especially on the offensive side of things."
The Rice Lake, Wisconsin native spent last season with the Madison Capitols. Fader checks in at 6'2/195 lbs. and joins Meijer AAA's Grant Ledford as the second player tendered by the Wings from the NAPHL.
Fader played in the 2015 NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament in Ann Arbor for Team Central, where he recorded two points. He signed an NAHL tender agreement last season with the Soo Eagles.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
