San Jose 18U forward Meure signs NAHL tender
January 8, 2015

The San Jose Jr. Sharks, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are proud to announce that 18U AAA player Ryan Meure has tendered with the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
This season, Meure has 12 goals and 4 assists for 16 points in 19 NAPHL games. His 12 goals is tied for sixth best in the league. Last season, Meure tendered with Kenai River as well but chose to stay home and finish high school before leaving for the NAHL.
He appeared in two games earlier this season with Kenai River as an affiliate player and scored a goal on a nice breakaway move.
“Ryan has worked hard the past two seasons and had an opportunity to play games with Kenai this season. I think he learned a lot about the league and more about his ability to compete at that level. We are proud of Ryan and wish him the best as he takes the next step in his hockey career,” said Player Advancement Coordinator, Mike Janda.
A native of Fremont, California, Meure (5’9/150) leads the team in scoring. Meure is currently in his seventh season with the Jr. Sharks organization.
He is the second player from the San Jose 18U team to sign an NAHL tender this season (Devin Cooley/Springfield).
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2015.
