Team North wins NAPHL Top Prospects event

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) completed its Top Prospects event this past weekend at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois. The event was played in cooperation with the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship Tournament.
Over 30 college and junior scouts were on hand to watch the event, which spanned over three days and saw each team play in four games.
The winner of the event was Team North, who were coached by Esmark Stars 18U head coach Dave Kosick. North was dominant from start to finish at the event as they went undefeated with a perfect 4-0 record, outscoring their opponents 18-2 in the four games.
In the Championship Game on Sunday, North defeated Team Great Lakes, 5-0. Goaltenders Justin Ketola (Omaha) and Brian Baker (Esmark) combined for the 17-save shutout. Adam Alavis (Esmark), who is an NAHL tender of the Soo Eagles scored twice and ended up sharing the tournament scoring lead with fellow Team North member Mason Kreuger (Omaha), who each had six points. Defenseman Tristan Ramage (Esmark) and forward Logan Fredericks (New Jersey) also had multi-point games.
Ketola did not allow a goal in 102 minutes of action in the event and Baker only gave up two goals. Tyler Doyle (Omaha) led all defensemen in scoring with four points at the event.
Team Great Lakes forward Zander Sorenson (West Michigan) finished 3rd in scoring for the event with five points.
In the consolation game, Team West edged Team South in a shootout, 3-2. Austin Junger (St. Louis) scored both goals in regulation for West, while Dylan Teed (Phoenix) and Bobby Rodgers (Texas) scored for Team South. Cade Warner (Omaha) scored the shootout winner.
