SHOW League enters final day of action in New Hampshire

The NAPHL’s SHOW League continued its 2023-24 season on Sunday in New Hampshire as all the SHOW 18, 16, and 14U teams highlighted the action on Day 3 with another full slate of games. The 16 and 14U teams each played in their fourth and final gaemes of the event, while the 18U teams wrap-up on Monday.

The SHOW is a collection of Tier I and Tier II organizations from all over North America that compete at the Tier I level at NAPHL events. It also includes teams from some of the strongest Tier II leagues in the United States. This event includes all 18U, 16U and 14U teams in the first match-ups of the season.

Since the inception of the SHOW League there have been an increased number of opportunities for players at the NAHL, NA3HL, and T1ER Leagues. The internal exposure elements inclusive of an exclusive tendering system and the strategically schedule events have proven to be very beneficial to the players competing in the SHOW League.

Day 3 recaps

18U SHOW: The Orland Park Vikings topped Cherry Creek High in a 4-1 game. Damian Kulman recorded 3 points and goaltender Maxwell Cook stopped 27 points. Pilot Mound Academy silenced Tahoe Prep, 3-0. Sanjay Chalupiak scored twice and goalie Quinn Burfoot posted an 18 shot shutout. The New Hampshire Monarchs won in a shootout against the Pekin Dragons, 5-4. Garrett Aceto scored two goals and dished out an assist while Cade Rose was busy in net stopping 25 shots. The Tri-Valley Hockey Association Bulls shutout the Utah Jr. Mustangs (Red), 5-0. Dexter Harkness and Michael Perone both scored two goals and goalie Brandon Bedley was perfect in net. The St. Louis Sting took a 3-2 win against the New Jersey Titans. The New Hampshire Mountain Kings won in overtime against the Texas Tigers, 2-1. Cameron Morin scored both regulation and the overtime winner for New Hampshire. Dillon Hernandez stopped 20 shots in the win. The Philadelphia Little Flyers added two goals in the third period to win 3-1 against Denver East. Colin Helkowski scored both goals in the third and goaltender Andrew Craig took the win in net. The Golden State Elite took a 2-1 overtime win over the Sea Hawks HC. Julian Quinones netted the regulation goal and an overtime goal in the win. The Houston Aeros topped the Utha Jr. Mustangs (Blue) in a 4-2 win. Nathan Horn added 4 points and goaltender Ryan Valdivieso stopped 33 shots. The SISU Thunderbirds won 4-2 against the Rose City Pats. Christian Collins and Devin Eby both posted 3 points and goaltender Jackson Parker McGrath won in net. The Pacific ridge Hockey Club topped the New Mexico Ice Wolves 3-1. The San Diego Jets won 4-0 Monument Hockey Academy 4-0. Logan Wise scored a hat-trick and goalie Thomas Fraser stopped all 27 shots. The Dallas Penguins won 4-1 over the Ontario Jr Reign. Maddox Hamilton scored a hat-trick in the win and goaltender Evan Witt stopped 25 shots. 

16U SHOW: The St. Louis Sting won 5-3 over the Rose City Pats. Keanean Bahm scored two goals and goaltender Miles Rosenthal stopped 32 shots. The Orland Park Vikings blanked the Las Vegas Jr Golden Knights, 4-0. Goaltender Nolan Sanderson posted a 24 shot shutout victory. The Tampa Bay Crunch doubled down on the Utah Jr. Mustangs (Red), 8-4. Alexander Rapport netted 4 goals and while goaltenders Sebastian Alfonso and Cater Lindquist both saw the net in the win. The New Hampshire Mountain Kings won 5-1 over the Tampa Bay Crunch. Kaidan Sahajpal had a 3 point game and goalie Aidan Finn stopped 23 shots. The Seacoast Prep Academy won in a shootout against the Midwest Blackbirds, 4-3. Forward Connor Hallgren added two assists plus scored a goal in the shootout. Tahoe Prep Academy took a 4-1 victory against the North Carolina Golden Bears. Quin Dungan scored two goals and goalie Finn Wheland stopped 30 shots. The Carolina Wave shutout the Portland Winterhawks in a 5-0 game. Jeremy Nash posted two goals and goaltender Joby Knox had a 14 shot shutout win. The SISU Thunderbirds scored 4 goals in the second period to get ahead of the Park City Ice Miners in a 6-1 final. Ethan Baker had a 3 point game and goalie Mason Brehm stopped 33 shots. The Santa Clara Blackhawks defeated the Utah Jr. Mustangs (Blue) squad by a score of 5-1. Dominic Powell added two goals and two assists while netminder Atom Egan got the win between the pipes. The Ontario Jr Reign took an overtime win against the New Hampshire Monarchs, 4-3. Tegan Gardner scored the overtime game winner, a goal in the third, and dished an assist in the game tying goal.

14U SHOW: The North Carolina Golden Bears won their third game of the New Hampshire event thanks to a 3-1 win over the Orland Park Vikings. Noah Hall had two goals and James Bradshaw also scored in the win. Caleb Zemar had the lone goal in the Vikings loss. Daniel Rinaldo made 25 saves in the win. The Park City Ice Miners won their first game of the event thanks to a 6-4 win over the New Hampshire Avalanche. Pierce Adams and Beau Blakely each scored twice in the win. The Santa Clarita Flyers capped a perfect 4-0 run at the event in New Hampshire by beating the previously unbeaten Vegas Jr. Golden Knights, 4-1. Radek Tervo had two goals and Sebastian Wright had a goal and an assist in the win. Flyers goalie Mason Kring stopped 18 of 19 shots in the win. In the final game of the day, the Ontario Jr. Reign doubled up the Boston Imperials, 8-4. Filip Duba had a hat-trick and two assists and Richard Whitehead had two goals and two assists in the win.
