Anchorage forward Reineke makes NCAA DI commitment

February 14, 2023

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Jackson Reineke spent four seasons playing in the NAPHL for the Shattuck-St. Marys 18U and 16U teams.

The Anchorage Wolverines of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward and NAPHL alum Jackson Reineke has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Robert Morris University for the 2023-24 season.

Reineke, 20, has been with the Wolverines for both years of their existence. The 5’9/168 lbs. native of Fairbault, MN, has shifted his play into the next gear this season, and he’s been a point-a-game player for the Wolverines. With 22 goals and 47 points for the team this year in 41 games, Reineke leads Anchorage in scoring and is currently sixth in the NAHL for points.

“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Robert Morris University. I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for helping me get to this point,” said Reineke. “I chose RMU because they have a great coaching staff and are in a unique spot where they have a history of success and built a well-respected program. With that said, they’re in a spot where they need to rebuild a team from the ground up for next year, and I am very excited to be a part of that. It reminded me a lot of what we did with Anchorage last year.”

Reineke scored nine goals and 24 assists for 33 points in 55 games during the 2021-22 regular season, which was his rookie campaign. He added four more goals during the Robertson Cup playoff run, one of which was the overtime game winner that propelled Anchorage past St. Cloud in game one of the semi-finals round.

In 96 career NAHL regular season games to date, Reineke has recorded 80 points.

“I’m excited for Rhino on his commitment to Robert Morris,” Head Coach Evan Trupp stated. “He has worked extremely hard to earn a Division 1 scholarship and it is very much deserved.”

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Reineke spent four seasons playing in the NAPHL for the Shattuck-St. Mary’s 18U and 16U teams. In 55 career NAPHL games during those four seasons, Reineke posted 35 points.
