NAPHL concludes event in Michigan

Chase Hannon and the Philadelphia Little Flyers sit atop the 18U T1ER standings with a 14-1-1 record.

The NAPHL T1ER and SHOW event in Michigan came to a close on Monday, January 16th with one final day of games.

Day 4 recaps

18U T1ER: The Philadelphia Little Flyers won 6-2 against Biggby Coffee AAA. Goaltender Jake Schunke denied 21 shots in the win. CarShield AAA defeated Omaha Mastery AAA in a 6-2 game. Carter Clemons added two assists and goaltender Branson Appelman stopped 24 tries in the win. The Esmark Stars won in overtime against the New Jersey Jr. Titans, 6-5. Ian Norkevicus had 5 assists in the win while goaltender Peter Baldwin got the win in the pipes. The Maine Nordiques defeated the Madison Capitols by a wide margin, 8-1. Dylan Chun had a 4 point game and goaltender Braxton Castagno stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced. 

16U T1ER: Biggby Coffee AAA topped the Philadelphia Little Flyers in a 4-1 final. Boston Cornic and Kyle Lynch both added two goals as goaltender Andrew Keli stopped 25 shots in the win. CarShield AAA took down Omaha Mastery AAA by a final score of 8-3. Logan Stawizynski added a hat trick and goaltender Will Harbaugh took the win in net. The Esmark Stars took an overtime win against the New Jersey Jr. Titans, 4-3. Ivan Safronov added 3 points including an assist on the game-winning goal. Landon Buterbaugh earned the win in net as he stopped 26 shots. The Maine Nordiques shutout the Madison Capitols, 2-0. Leo Mantenuto had a two point game and goalie Owen Huisman posted a 21 shot shutout win. 

18U SHOW: James Casey denied all 27 shots thrown his way as the Chicago Jets blanked the Clearwater Ice Storm. Kasper Zabawa, William Leshnock and Joseph Deitcher each potted a pair of goals in the victory. Brandon Grant scored twice and Olivier Caballero was perfect in net as the Anaheim Jr. Ducks shutout the Jersey Whalers 6-0. 24 Saves from Ryan Obert and goals from Elijah Briz and Luke Ferguson was all the St. Louis Sting would need to beat the Maine Nordiques Prep team on Monday morning.  Nate Macek registered two goals and an assist as the Chicago Hawks up ended the Philly Little Flyers Elite 5-1. Josh Taylor contributed a goal and an assist while Brendan Kelly made 23 saves. Daniel Perillo’s second goal of the game was the game winner in overtime as the Northwest Chargers came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over the Lincoln Stars. Jurciukonis Martynas made 27 saves for Northwest. Masen Kerr found the back of the net twice and added an assist as the Highland Park Falcons beat the Texas Tigers 5-1. Mark Basal and Johnny Longabaugh each had a goal and an assist. Devin Bruns got on the scoresheet twice as the Orland Park Vikings defeated the Tri Valley Bulls 6-2. Jacob Mish and Patrick Graca each picked up a goal and an assist in the win. Aden Schmidt’s third tally of the day with 90 seconds in regulation proved to be the difference as Cherry Creek edged out the Arizona Hockey Union 3-2. Dylan Eldridge and Caden Mills combined for 17 saves for Cherry Creek. Braylen Tuff had two goals in regulation and another in the shootout as the New Jersey Titans Prep team beat the St. Mary’s Rams in the skills competition. Sam Gipe stopped 24 shots in 55 minutes and then two shooters in the shootout. 

16U SHOW: Ian Ingles registered a hat trick as the Pekin Dragons defeated Cherry Creek 7-1. Colten Cox picked up two goals from the blue line for the Dragons. Charlie Stow led the way with four points as the Chicago Jets secured an 8-1 win over the St. Louis Sting. Karsten Ewert and Matthew Lazzari both had two goals for the Jets. Chase O’Dea made 34 stops to help the Florida Jr. Everblades defeat the Arizona Hockey Union 5-1. Jaron Prokopetz led Florida with a goal and two assists. Jake Bamback had a goal and an assist as the Texas Tigers knocked off the Highland Park Falcons 5-1. Tyler White was nearly perfect as he made 23 saves. Nathan Novak tickled the twine twice as the Orland Park Vikings defeated the Anaheim Jr. Ducks 8-1. Andrew Engstrom, Andrew Speh and Brendan Casey each had a goal and an assist.  Adam Lukwinski grabbed two goals and an assist as the Chicago Hawks took down the Clearwater Ice Storm 6-2. Damian Kulman had two points while Dacoda Jones stopped 24 shots in the win. Cole Johnson finished the afternoon with two goals and two helpers as the Sylvania North Stars took home an 11-3 win over the New Jersey Titans Elite. Carter Tillman also scored twice and nearly every player recorded at least one point.

14U SHOW: Tate Cakir potted two goals and two assists as the McKinney North Stars closed out the event with a 4-1 win over the Arizona Hockey Union. Sawyer Sheffield grabbed a goal and an assist as well. Drew Chovenec and Brendan Miller each picked up four points as the Pekin Dragons topped the Weber Mustangs 11-0. Skyler Dick had the shutout in between the pipes. Nicholas Gallagher scored twice while Nathan Kerr and Liam Butsavich each had a goal and an assist in the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights 6-2 win over the New Jersey Titans. The Highland Park Falcons blanked the New Mexico Ice Wolves by a score of 8-0. Logan Spiegal and Logan Marsch combined to make 15 saves to grab the shutout. Michael Catalano led the Falcons offense with two goals and an assist.
