Chicagoland SHOW teams shine on Day 1 in Philly

The seventh NAPHL event of the 2022-23 season got underway on Friday at the Aston Ice Works in Aston, PA, as the 18U and 16U SHOW League teams took to the ice. It was a big day for the Chicagoland teams from the CSDHL as they showed well on Day 1.

The T1ER 18U and 16U teams from the T1ER League take to the ice on Day 2 on Saturday.

This is the seventh NAPHL T1ER event and the second SHOW event of the 2022-23 season, which is the 14th season of the NAPHL.

The majority of East Division teams have played 7-8 league games to date, which came back during the NAHL Showcase in September and the regional event in New Jersey.

NAHL Games: The Philadelphia Rebels will be hosting the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd at the Hollydell Ice Arena in Sewell, NJ.

Day 1 Recaps

18U SHOW: The Chicago Hawks defeated the Philadelphia Little Flyers in a 8-1 contest. Brady Cullin handed out 3 helpers while Leo Kotor and Benjamin Bolf both scored a goal and an assist. Netminder Cooper Darovic was great in net stopping 16 shots. The Chicago Jets took down the Jersey Whalers in a 5-1 final. Chris Cerven and Carter Kotrba both added 2 points with a goal and assist. Hagan Quigley was near perfect between the pipes stopping 12 of the 13 shots he faced. The Maine Nordiques edged the Orland Park Vikings in a 3-2 game. Maine added two goals in the third period with Maddoc Newton netting his second of the game and Aleksander Suvorov. Goaltender Rylan Freshwater earned the win stopping 29 shots. The New Jersey Jr. Titans prep topped the Highland Park Falcons in a 3-2 score. Preston Jones added two goals and Will Fliss added a goal and assist. Nick Gould earned the win in net stopping 28 shots. The Chicago Jets took down the New Jersey Jr. Titans Prep squad in a 8-2 final. Kasper Zabawa and Andrew Benick both netted two goals. Goaltender James Casey stopped 23 shots in the win. The Northwest Chargers took a shootout win over the Maine Nordiques, 4-3. Ryan Knauss and Daniel Perillo both scored in the shootout win. The Chicago Hawks took a big win over the Jersey Whalers, 10-1. Angelo Varchetto, Michael Rydak, Josh Taylor, Adam Rehus, Liam Lecauchois, and Brady Cullin all recorded a multiple point game. The Philadelphia Little Flyers topped the Orland Park Vikings in a 6-4 game. Daniel White added 3 points and Micheal McDevitt added 4 in the win. Goaltender Matthew Beatty stopped 21 shots. The Highland Park Falcons won 5-3 over the New Jersey Jr. Titans Elite. Ginley Gauger added 3 points with 1 goal and 2 assists while netminder Noah Van Herik stopped 22 shots.

16U SHOW: The Chicago Jets topped the Florida Jr. Everblades in a 4-1 contest. Liam Keohan added two goals and goaltender Benjamin Bracas earned the win in net. The Pekin Dragons blanked the New Jersey Jr. Titans in a 9-0 shutout. Logan Skocaj added 4 points with 2 goals and 2 assists while Ian Ingles had 3 points with 2 goals and an assist. Charles Maquet earned the shutout stopping all 7 New Jersey shots that came his way. The Lehigh Valley Phantoms edged the Highland Park Falcons, 5-4. Chris Fanning had a big game scoring 2 goals and adding 3 assists. Goaltender Matthew Krem picked up the win in net stopping 27 shots. The Orland Park Vikings took a big win over the Philadelphia Hockey Club, 11-1. Jameson Thulin, Zachary Beranek, Nick Mistro, Cal Riemen, and Aidan Blokel all had a multiple point night. Max Cook picked up the win in net stopping 6 shots. The Chicago Hawks defeated the Philadelphia Little Flyers, 4-2. The Pekin Dragons took a 4-1 win over the Florida Jr. Everblades. Ian Ingles added 2 goals and Caleb Anthony added 3 assists. Charles Maquet earned the win stopping 29 of 30 shots. The Chicago Jets edged the Philadelphia Hockey Club in a 2-1 game. Karsten Ewert added 2 points with a goal and an assist. Truman Sterling earned the win in net. The Chicago Hawks defeated the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in a 6-1 game. Andrew Nugent netted a hat-trick and goaltender Dacoda Jones topped 14 of 15 shots. The Orland Park Vikings took a shootout win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers, 2-1. Jameson Thulin and Zachary Marsell both scored in the shootout period and goalie Logan Bruns earned the win stopping 22 shots. The Highland Park Falcons out-battled the New Jersey Jr. Titans in a 5-2 final after a 4 goal third period. Tyler Graf netted two goals, and Demetri Fallidas added a goal and an assist. Goaltender Gio Battalico backstopped 18 shots in the victory.
