CarShield AAA 18U defenseman Kimble signs NAHL tender
The CarShield AAA Hockey organization of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Lawson Kimble has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Janesville Jets of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Kimble, 17, just finished his third season within the NAPHL and third year playing for the CarShield organization. The 5’11/170 lbs. native of Granite City, Illinois played 27 regular season games for CarShield’s 18U team in the 2021-22 campaign, recording a goal and nine assists in those games. Kimble also appeared in five 2022 NAPHL 18U Dixon Cup games, recording one assist.
Kimble played 13 games for CarShield’s 15U program in the 2019-20 season and 24 games for the 16U program in the 2020-21 season. Across the three seasons, Kimble has accumulated 23 career NAPHL points.
Kimble was selected to and participated in the 2022 NAHL 18U Top Prospects, representing the NAHL Combine team, playing in four games. Kimble was also selected to participate in the 2022 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game in Blaine, Minnesota, representing Team Grey.
He is the fifth player from the CarShield AAA 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender for the 2022-23 season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
