Philadelphia 18U defenseman Costabile signs NAHL tender
The Philadelphia Little Flyers of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Jack Costabile has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL’s East Division.
Costabile, 19, just finished his third season in the NAPHL and third with the Little Flyers organization. The 6’0/187 lbs. native of Devon, Pennsylvania played 15 games for Philadelphia in the 2021-22 campaign, putting up a pair of goals and five assists in those games played. He also appeared in four 2022 NAPHL 18U Dixon Cup games, recording two goals and two assists for the Little Flyers.
Across his three-year NAPHL career, Costabile has played in 53 games (regular season and postseason) and recorded 39 points.
Constabile was selected to and participated in the 2022 NAHL 18U Top Prospects, representing the NAPHL, where he recorded one point in 4 games played..
He is the second player from the Little Flyers 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender for the 2022-23 season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
