The Biggby Coffee AAA organization, proud members of the NAPHL, is pleased to announce that 18U forward Tyler Agnew has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Shreveport Mudbugs of the NAHL’s South Division.
Agnew, 18, just completed his 3rd season in the NAPHL, all spent with the Biggby Coffee Organization (formerly Meijer). The 5’8/165 lbs. native of Kalamazoo, MI had played previously in the league with the Meijer AAA 18U team during the 2020-21 season and the Meijer AAA 15U team during the 2019-20 season.
In the 2021-22 regular season, Agnew played 28 games for Biggby, recording seven goals and eleven assists. He also played in 6 Dixon Cup games and recorded one point, his team making it to the Dixon Cup Championship.
Agnew was selected to and participated in the NAHL 18U Top Prospects, representing the NAPHL, where he recorded one point in 4 games played..
He is the 7th player from the Biggby 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender for the 2022-23 season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
