Maine 18U forward Yarmulnik signs NAHL tender
The Maine Nordiques Academy of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U forward Alexey Yarmulnik has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Maine Nordiques of the NAHL’s East Division.
Yarmulnik, 18, is a dynamic forward who can score, win face-offs and play the body. During the 2021-22 season, Yarmulnik played in the NAPHL for the Nordiques 18U team, recording five points in nine regular season games and an additional three points in five Dixon Cup Playoff games.
The 6’0/185 lbs. native of Old Bridge, New Jersey put up 27 points in 46 games played. Alexey is no stranger to junior hockey or the NAHL, as he made his NAHL debut with the Jamestown Rebels earlier this past season on October 1st.
Alexey opened the eyes of Head Coach, Matt Pinchevsky, and Assistant Coach, Kyle Warren, where they saw his play of the game and practice sheets as he earned himself the chance to practice consistently with the NAHL squad last season. Alexey was able to see how the Nordiques culture is and fit right in. Alexey is another of many who will be getting a chance to play NAHL hockey from the Maine Nordiques 18U team.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
