Maine 18U goalie McDevitt signs NAHL tender
The Maine Nordiques 18U team of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that goaltender Ewan McDevitt has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Maine Nordiques of the NAHL’s East Division.
McDevitt, 19, is a product of the Maine Nordiques Academy and has quickly adapted to the Nordiques culture. The 6’2/181 lbs. native of Brookfield, WI, joined the Nordiques 18U team from the NA3HL and immediately made an impact.
With the Nordiques 18U team this past season, McDevitt went 10-4-2 with .940 save percentage and a 1.51 goals against average. McDevitt impressed not only the Maine Nordiques Development Program coaching staff, but the NAHL staff as well and earned two starts in a NAHL sweater.
McDevitt saw his first NAHL action on March 20th when the Maine Nordiques were taking on a division foe in the Northeast Generals. He would also played in a game on April 2nd against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks.
McDevitt is familiar with both the NAHL umbrella of development and the Maine Nordiques ladder of development as he also played with the NA3HL’s Milwaukee Power in the 2020-21 campaign where he posted a 3.63 goals against average and a .914 save percentage in 14 games played.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
