NAPHL heads into final day in New Jersey

The seventh NAPHL event of the 2021-22 regular season continued on Saturday, December 4th at the Middletown Sports Complex in Middletown, New Jersey with the second T1ER League Eastern Conference event of the season.

Day 2 Highlights

16U Division: The New Jersey Jr. Titans started the day with a 7-0 win over the East Coast Spartans. Aiden Rowland had 20 saves in the shutout and seven different players scored for New Jersey. The New Jersey Jr. Titans 15U team followed that up with a 4-2 win over the Dallas Penguins as Ben McCain had two goals in the win. The Maine Nordiques got a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers as Ryan Bradley, Ben Lees, and Trace Day each had a goal and an assist. In the afternoon games, the Titans picked up their second win of the day as they beat the Dallas Penguins, 4-1. Ryan Cook, James Georges, Brendan Shaughnessy, and Zach O’Neill scored for New Jersey. The New Hampshire Avalanche came from behind to defeat the Philadelphia Little Flyers in overtime, 5-4. Jackson Burke had a hat-trick including the game-winner. In the nightcap, the Maine Nordiques got two goals apiece from Ben Lees and Owen Trevino in an 8-1 win over the East Coast Spartans.

18U Division: In 18U action, the East Coast Spartans opened the day with a 6-4 win over the Maine Nordiques. Danila Belov had two goals and an assist to lead the Spartans attack. The Philadelphia Little Flyers were dominant in a 10-0 win over the 95 Giants. Anderw Hodolitz and Thor Hanson each scored twice and Michael Manzi and Tyler Temoyan split the shutout. The Mercer Chiefs got a 21-save shutout from Jack Borek in an 8-0 win over the New Hampshire Avalanche. Sean Pomerantz had two goals in the win. In the afternoon, the Little Flyers picked up their second win of the day with a 4-3 shootout win over the East Coast Spartans. Matt Marris had a goal in regulation and the shootout-winner. The 95 Giants got 25 saves from Tyrus Pratley in a 2-1 win over the Maine Nordiques. Nathan Girard and Matt Pedersen had the two goals in the win. The New Jersey Jr. Titans got a 24-save shutout from Lucca Scaglione in a 3-0 win over the New Hampshire Avalanche. Ethan Wongus had a goal and an assist in the win for New Jersey.

This weekend, 18U and 16U teams from the East Division will take to the ice for three days of competition at the Middletown Sports Complex, which is home to the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL, NA3HL, and NAPHL.

Each team will play in four games during the event, which runs from December 3-5.

Founded in 2009 and celebrating its 13th season in 2021-22, the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is the NAPHL is the premier training ground for development, exposure, and opportunity. During the 2021-22 season, the NAPHL will be made up of four different leagues: Tier 1, Fall, Showcase (Tier II), and Prep (High School).

To date, 24 NAPHL players have been tendered by NAHL teams for the 2022-23 season.
