Northstar 18U forward Cook signs NAHL tender
The Northstar Knights of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward Dylan Cook has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Austin Bruins of the NAHL’s Central Division.
Cook, 18, is in his second full season playing in the NAPHL for the Knights 18U team. So far during the 2021-22 season, Cook is 2nd in team scoring with 18 points in 10 NAPHL games to date. He is currently tied for tops in the NAPHL TIER League and 18U Division with three game-winning goals so far this season.
Last season, Cook helped the Knights to the NAPHL 18U Dixon Cup Championship, which included recording 10 points in nine regular season games and 11 points in six Dixon Cup Playoff games. Cook scored all three goals in regulation during Northstar’s 4-3 overtime win in the 2021 Dixon Cup 18U Championship Game.
Overall in 34 games during the 2020-21 season, Cook recorded 50 points.
Prior to playing for Northstar in the NAPHL, Cook played two seasons of high school hockey in Minnesota for Princeton High.
He is the second player from the Knights 18U team to sign a NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
