New Jersey 18U forward Sang signs NAHL tender

June 29, 2021

The New Jersey Jr. Titans of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U forward Marcus Sang has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL’s East Division for the 2021-22 season.

Sang, 19, had eight points (7 goals, 1 assist) in eight games this past season. The 6’0”, 170 lb. native of Toronto, ON was named an affiliate player for the organization’s flagship team back on February 16.  An affiliate player agreement enables youth players to participate in a certain amount of NAHL games in a season. Sang played in three games with the NAHL team this past season and was a +2.

He also appeared in five NAPHL Dixon Cup Playoff games, recording six points (5 goals, 1 assist).

“I really appreciate the opportunities coaches Craig Doremus, Bobby DiRico and Kyle Shapiro have given me,” stated Sang. “I also really want to thank my 18U Coach George Haviland for supporting me within the organization. I’m training very hard on and off the ice in preparation for main camp, and I’m really excited to be able to show the coaching staff my skills.”

“We are really excited to tender Marcus for the upcoming season,” stated Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus.  “Marcus had a positive impact this year on our team as an affiliate player.  Marcus comes to us from our 18U affiliate team where he developed through the year.  His ability to play a hard skill game will be a huge attribute to our hockey team.  We can’t wait to see him at camp in July.”

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
