Indy Jr. Fuel 18U goalie Garritty signs NAHL tender
The Indy Jr. Fuel of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U goaltender Grayson Garritty has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Jamestown Rebels of the NAHL’s East Division.
Garritty, 18, just completed his second season of playing in the NAPHL and first season of playing for the Indy Jr. Fuel. The 6’2/174 lbs. native of Chester, NH, appeared in 16 NAPHL games during the 2020-21 season and posted a 9-5-0 record.
Garrity posted a 2.79 goals against average and a .896 save percentage. He faced the third most shots (436) this season in the 18U Division and was selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game where he allowed one goal in one period of play.
Last season, Garritty played for the Des Moines Buccaneers AAA 18U team in the NAPHL. He posted a 4-1 record in five NAPHL games. Prior to that, he spent one season with the New Jersey Jr. Titans.
He is the second player from the Indy Jr. Fuel 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
