New Jersey 16U forward Solovey signs NAHL tender

February 25, 2021

The New Jersey Titans Hockey Program, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey and Atlantic Youth Hockey Leagues, is pleased to announce that 16UAAA forward Justin Solovey has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL’s East Division.

Solovey, 16, has 22 points (13 goals and 9 assists) in 12 AYHL games this season. The 6’2/180 lbs. native of Holmdel, NJ had eleven points (9 goals and 2 assists) in four NAPHL games.

“I am very excited on getting the opportunity to play at the next level for the New Jersey Titans NAHL and becoming part of their culture,” stated Solovey.

“Justin is a guy that over the last few years has been committed to developing his individual skill sets, and what he has been able to accomplish shows that he is a top prospect,” stated Titans Director of Players George Haviland. “His ability to hold onto the puck and make plays combined with his playmaking skills, and his size and strength makes him a player that we feel has very bright future ahead of him. Keeping the promote from within the Titan mission statement makes Justin a no brainer tender selection for us at the NAHL Titans level.”

“What Justin did at the NAPHL Dixon Cup Playoffs in Dallas was a separating factor amongst his peers in which he was a top five scorers in the NAPHL playoffs weekend and only playing in four games closed the deal for us and our selection to tender him at the NAHL level,” concluded Haviland.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
