CarShield AAA 18U defenseman Robinson signs NAHL tender
The CarShield AAA hockey organization of the NAPHL is pleased to announce that 18U defenseman and All-Star Brett Robinson has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL’s Central Division.
Robinson, 18, has been a part of the CarShield program in the NAPHL for four seasons, which includes this year with the 18U team. The 5’11/165 lbs. native of St. Peter’s, MO, led the CarShield 18U team in NAPHL scoring during the 2020-21 season with 21 points in 30 games played, which included 8 goals and 13 assists.
Robinson’s 21 points were 2nd among all NAPHL 18U defensemen and he was also selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game. In 48 total games this season, he has recorded 41 points.
Robinson played the 2019-20 season for the CarShield AAA 18U team, where he had six points in 16 NAPHL games played.
He first began playing in the NAPHL for CarShield during the 2017-18 season with the 15U team. In 70 total NAPHL regular season games, Robinson has recorded 34 points.
He is the third member of the CarShield AAA 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
