Des Moines 18U forward Braun signs NAHL tender

February 4, 2021

The Des Moines Buccaneers AAA program of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward and All-Star Brady Braun has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Maine Nordiques of the NAHL’s East Division.

Braun, 18, is currently the leading scorer in the NAPHL’s 18U Tier 1 Division. The 5’10/185 lbs. native of Fargo, ND, serves as the team's alternate captain and has recorded 35 points (8 goals, 27 assists) in 22 league games played during the 2020-21 season.

Braun was also selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game, where he recorded an assist.

This is Braun’s second season playing for Des Moines in the NAPHL. During the 2019-20 season, he had 12 points in 12 NAPHL games.

Braun is the 5th player from the Des Moines 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
